Modernizing an outdated Building Management System (BMS) presents unique challenges, especially when the building is fully occupied. Recently, we were tasked with upgrading a 15-year-old system in a major commercial complex.
The legacy system was plagued by frequent communication failures and lacked energy reporting capabilities. Our team implemented a phased migration strategy, replacing the core controllers while maintaining the existing field devices temporarily.
The outcome was a seamless transition to a modern, IP-based BMS that provided the client with remote access, advanced energy analytics, and improved HVAC efficiency.
